1. When did you start your blog and why?
I started to book blog a year ago. Before that I did music blogging for the European market. My blog is a companion to my personal site which is all but abandoned. This book blogging takes up loads of time. I owe two reviews now and I have a new Historical Fiction project!
2. Tell us a little about yourself outside of your interest in books.
My husband is Dutch, I am failing miserably to learn the language.
I like to start craftsy projects that cost loads of early investment to abandon them a week or so in. Like my scrap booking project, and the cup cake art.
I have a 6 year old who is learning to read and a 5 month old learning to crawl.
I like to read way more than YA, I indulge in historical tomes such as Plato and Josephus.
I like to shop and eat great gourmet cuisine.
I have a Jack Russell who has her own Twitter @Jackiethejrt and her own website:
I have lived in 2 countries and visited all over the EU and United States.
I grew up in a town with pop. 1500.
3. Your favorite book from your youth and the story behind it.
T
o be honest I was quite the odd child. I remember 2nd grade when we were asked to write our first ever report on Valentine’s Day. I was the only one without pretty hearts and kisses talking about childish romance. I went to an encyclopedia and wrote my short version of the actual history of Valentine’s Day focusing on St. Valentine himself. I spent my time researching the thrones of Europe and the intermarriages and the causes of hemophilia. I also spent a stint on mythology.
I suppose the only book I ever read for ‘fun’ was Aesop’s Fables. I always loved the way the author brought me to the end of the story and the metaphor on how to be a good person. I think all children should have a copy of Aesop’s in their library.
“Pam is amazing! Let me say that again, Pam is amazing! I’m not sure how you manage taking care of two children and all of the other things on her list. All of her sites are amazing, but I’m partial to Bookalicious. She almost always has the same taste in books as I do, but besides that her site is gorgeous! Recently her and her husband revamped the site and it looks spectacular. We’re also painfully alike in the abandoning project category, as my boxes of scrap-booking supplies (and The Baker) will testify.
“As a child I also read, I believe, this same version of Aesop’s Fables. It’s something that I still remember and has stuck with me through the years. I highly recommend them to little ones and as you will soon find there are many versions to chose from. Since the one featured is out of print you may try a more recent version such as this one:
“Definitely be sure to check out Pam’s site! She’s been changing things up a bit recently and has been known to give away a book or two every now and then. If for no other reason, make sure you head on over to see how beautiful her site is! Thanks again Pam for participating!”
