A Bit of Me(Me) – Animals?
June 18th, 2010 by the1stdaughterWe all leave our “footprint” on the world, in one way or another. We each, individually, do something or are someone that makes the world a little better just by being here. I created this weekly meme to get to know the blogging community I love just a bit better. To know what makes them tick, outside of books, that is. Each week I will post a question to be answered in the following week’s “A Bit of Me(Me)”. Check back each Saturday to get the info for next week’s post and link up with your current post right here.
I know, some of you are skeptical about putting yourself out there on the internet and I completely respect that. That’s the entire reason I have no desire to ever reveal the “real” names of The Turkeybird and Littlebug. In time, once they’re old enough, if they chose to do that on their own I will respect their decision. So, if ever during the time I’m doing this meme do you feel the question is just too personal for your liking, feel free to post something else, I never want anyone to feel uncomfortable with what they share and I promise it will always be “kid-friendly”. I mean, this is a primarily children’s and young adult site, you know?
So, let’s get started!
This Weeks Question: Are you an animal person? Any type in particular?
Okay, I know, you’re saying, “What the heck? That’s not an animal!” Well, for those of you lucky enough to have tasted the amazing-ness that is In-N-Out Burger, you know what this is. “Animal Style Fries” Perfect for anyone looking to clog the arteries in moments and ward of lingering ex-boyfriends you want to drive away. Yep, loaded with their secret sauce, cheese and grilled onions these are a definite “animal style” meal that I’ve actually only ever seen my sister and her hubby enjoy.
So, on to the “Real” question. Am I an animal person? Well…absolutely! Growing up we had multiple cats and even a sweet little bird named “Puff Puff” (because he would literally puff up like a mini ball of feathers often). Currently though, no pets, well, we do have a few fish.
Littlebug would love nothing more than to have a “d-doggie” and the Turkeybird is a definite cat guy. What we would love…is to move into our own home, with a huge yard so that we could get one of these big guys:
Yep, we would love to have a Great Dane and possibly a couple kitties. But until we are in our own home with room to run that’s probably not going to happen. Until then though, we do have a fabulous “stand-in” when we get to see him. My sister has a wonderful not-so-little English Bulldog named Ozzy. He’s fabulous! The last time we saw him my hubby nearly brought him home with us he likes him so much! Take a look, isn’t he adorable?!
PS…my sis is a fabulous photographer if you live in the Las Vegas or San Diego areas!
Now, your turn! Link up below and tell everyone “A Bit of You!”
Next Week’s Question: What is your favorite word and why?
Have a question to add? I’d love some suggestions! Just leave them in the comments and I’ll see about adding them in as we go!
Also, feel free to grab either of the buttons for your own “A Bit of Me(Me)” post (or create your own), but make sure to link back to There’s A Book. (You can also resize these down to a smaller size if you’d like.)

Oh my gosh I totally want animal fries now! Those are probably two of my fav pictures of Ozzy:) I can’t wait for you to get a Dane! They are such sweet dogs! Thanks for the plug too:)
You should definitely stop and pick some up! I LOVE those two of him, they just fit his personality so well! One day…Great Dane here we come!
Ok, I posted mine colony of animals. LOL

I loved your post! Well, I already said that, but it’s so sweet what you do for all those animals. I’m so jealous!
I have always wanted to get a Great Dane too. Murphy is big, but not quite that big:)

Aren’t they the coolest dogs? They are absolutely sweet, but definitely need room to run. Not happening right now for sure!
I love the black and white picture of your sister’s dog – so cute!

Thanks! She actually took it, she’s amazing with the camera! Especially when it comes to Ozzy!
You read my mind… that is EXACTLY what I was thinking when I saw the pic of the fries.
Your sister’s dog is very very cute. I bet he drools a lot, though. I already have enough creatures drooling on me on a daily basis.

LOL!!! I thought I’d throw that in there for fun, since we don’t really have any pets here, unless you count the two toddlers who are definite animals.
Ozzy is absolutely a doll! And surprisingly, he doesn’t drool too much at all. I was actually expecting it when we first met him, but he’s really a great dog (and I’m not that much of a dog person, more my hubby).
We love Great Danes! And, wow, those fries!!
Cute Me(Me)!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I know, the fries are something else…heartburn all the way!
Hmm, I guess I’m not really a dog person, as you’ll see from my post; but I have to admit that those are some really awesome dog pictures. I guess I’ll admire them from afar!
Here’s mine:

Thanks for the wonderful compliment, I know my sister will really appreciate it. I’m truly not a huge dog fan, I’ve always been more interested in cats, until I met my first Great Dane. She was a beautiful dog and so so sweet! Changed how I look at them. But I’m not sure I’d just get any dog. Ozzy is also an exception to the rule, but that’s because he’s an amazing dog and very endearing!
I always wanted a Jack Russell Terrier. We have a Marcos family dog named Sable. She floats from house to house in our family because everyone loves her so much. She is a pitbull and the sweetest dog you will ever meet. She is afraid of cats! I love the pictures here!
Thanks so much! Most of the pictures were taken by my sister actually!
Your family dog sounds adorable! I’d love to have a pet like that some day!
My husband LOVES In and Out Burger. I don’t think we have them in Florida.
Great Dane’s are so amazing and so great with kids. Have you seen the black ones?
I was a cat person. Until I owned my first dog as an adult. I’m a total dog gal now. We have a black lab and poodle mix. My little poodle mix has a personality like Scrappy Doo and my lab is totally like Scooby Doo. Which (if memory serves me correctly) was modeled after a great dane.

LOL! Yeah, we’re huge In-n-Out fans and so glad to be back on the West Coast where they exist again. Although, I’ve heard they’re considering coming back East soon!
I have seen the black Great Danes and they’re gorgeous! A lot of the reason we fell in love with them is because they are so sweet and definitely great with kiddos…one day!
It’s funny how we change as we get older isn’t it? Now, a black lab and a poodle? Sounds like an interesting mix, but she sounds really sweet! Yep, I’m pretty sure Scooby was supposed to be a great dane.
Oh, Ozzy is adorable!! I would love to get an Irish Wolfhound, but alas, I think we are done with dogs after these two.

Oh, an Irish Wolfhound sounds delightful, but then again any pet does at this point!
Thanks for the compliment on Ozzy! He’s an absolute favorite in this house for sure!
I love the color picture of Ozzy! He looks like he’s smiling and I just had to smile right back!

Me too! I saw that one of him and had to put it in! My sister is amazing!
I love Dane’s! Those animal fries do not sound so appealing, however…

Wonderful post! Ozzy is SO CUTE! *pats picture* Well, you know I’m a particular fan of dogs…though cats are great too….dogs just tend to like me more, go figure. I love all my little fuzzy ones but would still one day like to have a Golden Retriever; not certain why, but I’ve always liked them. Anywho…thanks for sharing! ^_^

I’ve actually had a Golden Retriever! His name was Max and he was an absolute terror, but I loved him to pieces!
And thanks! Ozzy’s definitely a favorite furry-one around here, I just wish we were able to see him more often.
They live quite a ways from us.
