We all leave our “footprint” on the world, in one way or another. We each, individually, do something or are someone that makes the world a little better just by being here. I created this weekly meme to get to know the blogging community I love just a bit better. To know what makes them tick, outside of books, that is. Each week I will post a question to be answered in the following week’s “A Bit of Me(Me)”. Check back each Saturday to get the info for next week’s post and link up with your current post right here.
I know, some of you are skeptical about putting yourself out there on the internet and I completely respect that. That’s the entire reason I have no desire to ever reveal the “real” names of The Turkeybird and Littlebug. In time, once they’re old enough, if they chose to do that on their own I will respect their decision. So, if ever during the time I’m doing this meme do you feel the question is just too personal for your liking, feel free to post something else, I never want anyone to feel uncomfortable with what they share and I promise it will always be “kid-friendly”. I mean, this is a primarily children’s and young adult site, you know?
So, let’s get started!
This Weeks Question: Tell us all about your favorite movie and why. Can’t pick one? Give us your top five!
This may shock you all, but my #1 Favorite movie would have to be, without any doubt:

The Lord of the Rings, Return of the King
Yes, I pretty much like all the others in the triology, but this one is by far my favorite. Not long after they were released to DVD I made my hubby sit and watch all three over and over again until I pretty much had it all memorized. We even watched every single minute of each of the extra features disks. Sadly though, I have never been able to make it through the books. One day though, if for no other reason than that they were my Uncle’s favorite books when he was alive.
If I was going to pick a runner up, a more “girlie” movie, it would definitely be An Ideal Husband based on the play by Oscar Wilde starring Rupert Everett. This was actually introduced to me by my husband while he was taking a literature class in college that discussed the play and movie. I absolutely adore Oscar Wilde’s work and so when I watched the movie version of An Ideal Husband I fell in love. It’s brilliant! Funny, romantic and has fantastic actors. You don’t want to miss it!
You can’t go wrong with either of these picks!
Now, your turn! Link up below and tell everyone “A Bit of You!”
Next Week’s Question: Are you an animal person? Any type in particular?
Have a question to add? I’d love some suggestions! Just leave them in the comments and I’ll see about adding them in as we go!
Also, feel free to grab either of the buttons for your own “A Bit of Me(Me)” post (or create your own), but make sure to link back to There’s A Book.

I never could get into The Lord of The Rings, in book or film, but I love Wilde’s An Ideal Husband.
Isn’t he just incredible?! I love all that fabulous whit he packs into such a short space, just brilliant!
Thanks for this topic Danielle! I loved Lord Of the Rings, but I haven’t seen An Ideal Husband. Maybe I’ll check it out, though I do prefer Oscar Wilde’s fiction to the plays. I think it would have to be when my boyfriend isn’t at home though – he doesn’t really “do” the period piece thing.
You are so welcome! I think you’d be surprised. Rupert Everett in his role makes the entire movie, it’s actually one my hubby requests to watch even to this day. Just wonderful!
I’ve never watched Lord of the Rings…not my kind of movie. But An Ideal Husband…great!
BTW, Mr. Linky has been putting up the wrong blog name when I link. The link seems to take us to the right place, but it’s kind of annoying! The blog my post is on is Connections, not Collections.

Anyway, thanks for this wonderful meme that allows us to share bits and pieces of ourselves.
An Ideal Husband is fabulous! Thanks so much for joining in, I’m having a blast with this! And thanks for the Linky info, I’ll definitely check into it.
Return of the King was one of my top picks, too! I’ll have to check out An Ideal Husband.
Oh, I knew we were meant to be great friends!
You definitely should see An Ideal Husband, it’s great!
=o) I’m nagging at Joe to watch it with me this week!
I have some ideas for questions for future weeks:
What is one thing you are really NOT good at?
What is your favorite word and why?
Who is the famous person (dead or alive) that you most admire?
Oh! Yay! I need suggestions, coming up with them is proving more difficult than I thought. So this really helps! Thank you!
I never could get into The Lord of Rings Movies or book either.
That’s too bad! The movies really are great, good balance of action, romance and story. But every movie isn’t for every person! That’s why there are so many!
An Ideal Husband sounds good – I have not seen that one. Rupert Everett cracks me up.
You should definitely look for it! I laugh all the way through it, and Rupert Everett is perfect in it! He has some one liners that leave you rolling on the floor laughing.
I’m not a huge fan of the LotR movies, but Return of the King will always hold a special place in my memory because I went to see that before my very first final exam my freshman year of college. Group of new friends, all going out to see the last LotR movie at midnight (one of my fav hobbies) – who cares that I had an exam at 8 AM the next day! It was the first in our tradition of “bad decision nights” over the next four years.
My favorite movie? Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl. Don’t even have to think about that! Close behind, though, are Legally Blonde (love Reese Witherspoon!) and the Wizard of Oz
That sounds like so much fun! Isn’t that what the college years are all about anyway? Bad decision after bad decision, eventually you figure it out.
The Wizard of Oz was my absolute favorite at a child!
this is a great idea to get to know the people behind the blogs!
Thanks! Came up with it after Armchair BEA got me into loving all the fun “behind the scenes” info on great bloggers. Hope to have you join in some time!
I just found your site via “A Room Without Books Is Empty. Great meme…planning on participating next week. Have also become a follower of your blog.
CMash from CMash Loves To Read
Yay! I’m so glad to hear it! I’ve been having a ton of fun with this meme and it’s so great to get to know so many fabulous bloggers out there! Happy to have you join!
I love this meme! Though I don’t think I could ever decide what my fave movie is. Henry V? To Kill a Mocking Bird? Educating Rita? arrgh… I’m not good at that kind of deciding.
Btw, wanted to let you know that I finally got Don to let me post his chocolate cake recipe. A good one to share with wee ones. (At least those with teeth
Pam!
Oh, Henry V is amazing! I love that movie especially, like the play, but Kenneth Branagh plays an incredible Henry V. Great pick. It’s tough to choose, so many great movies out there!
I’m definitely running over to check out the Chocolate Cake Recipe…yum!
O I LOVE an Ideal Husband
Fine choice
LOVE Return of the King. It’s my favorite of the three, too. I just posted mine, but it’s on my non-book blog.
You know, this is one of my all time favorites too! I used to watch LOTR over and over until my roommates (and then my husband) got sick of them. I’ll have to do this Meme later this week! (And you should definitely try to read them – some of my fave books ever too!)
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy is my husband’s absolute FAVE movie trilogy! Believe it or not, every year, he pulls out all three movies and watches them in three consecutive evenings. I am not as smitten by the books or the movies as he is, but, oddly enough, Samwise Gamgee is my all-time favorite literary character! He is so loyal and kind throughout the stories – I enjoy the movies because of him!
Thanks for sharing!
Samwise is definitely what makes the movie, in my opinion. Just the perfect temperance to Frodo’s whinny-ness at times.
Yay!! My favorite is also LOTR!! I heart Aragorn and Legolas! This is one amazing trilogy, and yep, the first one is my fav of the three!
Yay! I always knew we were kindred spirits!
Interesting choices….would not have pegged you as a LOTR fan. I liked the movies as well…though the first and last were the best in my mind. The second was more to get them from A to B…almost filler. My favorite movies….wow that is hard. How about the ones the come to mind right now? A few I would drop everything to watch and have seen a gagillion times over…..GREASE (the singing, the clothes, the fun)…..DIRTY DANCING (Oh, come on….EVERYONE wanted to be Baby in that movie….just to get Johnny!)……the recent version of HAIRSPRAY (not that the original is bad, just haven’t seen it….LOVED the new one though). There are too many more to list, but of those…I sense a theme… LALALA! ^_^
I completely agree, 1st and last were definite favorites. You crack me up! I think I knew this about your movie choices from a feature you did on Today’s Adventure. Besides, I know how addicted you are to singing in movies & TV.
