It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? (23)

July 11th, 2010 by the1stdaughter

This fabulous weekly recap is hosted by Shelia of One Persons Journey Through a World of Books. Each week we recap what we’ve read and look at what’s coming up this week. If you’re interested head over to Shelia’s site and get involved! It’s a blast and I may even stop by to see what you’re up to!

Here’s what we’ve been up to this week:

It wouldn’t be a typical week around There’s A Book without some excitement and craziness. We’ve been reading non-stop, all of us. The Turkeybird and Littlebug are hooked on a few of the same books and I can’t get them to read anything else. It’s really fun! Well, maybe up until about the 30th time each day, but I’m still just happy they love to read so much.

As for me, luckily, I have a fabulous hubby who took the kiddos so I could get somethings done this weekend! I was able to schedule and clean off my desk that was overflowing. It’s great and now I feel like I can conquer just about anything that comes my way. How about you? Anything fabulous happen this week?

Wow, there’s a lot going on at your blog! Good for you. :D I’ll follow. I’m really excited for Tell Me a Secret. Can’t wait for my copy to come.

Check out my post, and feel free to enter my contest.

My granddaughter does that repetition thing with the books. It used to be the hardboard version of Go Dog Go, but recently it’s been the rather long Princess and the Frog (disney version) book. Takes a little while to read – and she’ll bring it to every female that enters the house! I wished my grandson liked reading as much – he would rather run around with drumsticks in his hand and drum on everything.

My granddaughter wants to see Despicable Me. Tells me everytime she sees the commercial.

  4. Ah, you’re reading Shopaholic! I thought that was a bit too silly, but I’ve got another book by Kinsella lined up for this week: Twenties Girl. No idea what it will be like. I loved her Undomestic Goddess, though!

  7. I’ve enjoyed Kinsella’s books, even the ones she writes under the Wickham name. I have Seven Year Switch on my stacks, but this week I’m reading another of Claire Cook’s books, Life’s a Beach.

    Hi there!
Wow, I am amazed at how many reviews you managed to write per week. Seriously, you need to share some recipes @ tips with me since I *always* having this slump where I can’t get anything out of my head :-/

Anyways, it seems like you’ve a lot of wonderful things line-up for this week. Will be checking in again to read the posts once they are up!

Until later, wish you have a great week =)

  11. I wish I could find a rhythm for getting more book reviews done! You inspire me! I love, love, love the example you set of allowing your children the pleasure of re-reading thier favorite books! I wish more parents understood the importance of that! Thanks for getting that message out there! Here is a link to my contribution for It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? Can’t seem to get it to post on Shelia’s site???

  12. Stephanie says:

I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with that developmental stage when a kid want sto read the same book again, and again, and again.

  13. Gwen says:

I have decided that I have a love/hate relationship with this meme. Every week, I feel bad that I haven’t read as much as one person, then guilty because I have more time to read than the next! Not to mention that I end up adding so many books to my wish list!

Will be watching for your Seven Year Switch review, Claire Cook always provides a great escape from my usual dry nonfiction. She is truly a breath of fresh air.
