There's A Book

We all leave our “footprint” on the world, in one way or another. We each, individually, do something or are someone that makes the world a little better just by being here. I created this weekly meme to get to know the blogging community I love just a bit better. To know what makes them tick, outside of books, that is. Each week I will post a question to be answered in the following week’s “A Bit of Me(Me)”. Check back each Saturday to get the info for next week’s post and link up with your current post right here.

I know, some of you are skeptical about putting yourself out there on the internet and I completely respect that. That’s the entire reason I have no desire to ever reveal the “real” names of The Turkeybird and Littlebug. In time, once they’re old enough, if they chose to do that on their own I will respect their decision. So, if ever during the time I’m doing this meme do you feel the question is just too personal for your liking, feel free to post something else, I never want anyone to feel uncomfortable with what they share and I promise it will always be “kid-friendly”. I mean, this is a primarily children’s and young adult site, you know?

So, let’s get started!

This Weeks Question: If you could travel anywhere in the world for 24 hours, where would you go?
(Logistically, this could be more than one place, so be creative!)

So, I’m about to cheat…there is no way (unless, I rent a magic carpet for a day) that I could actually travel to the three places I’m about to mention. These are the three places I want to go more than anywhere in the entire world and I am determined to make it happen before I leave this earth. Hopefully I’ve got a few more years to get going!

Veracruz Mexico

About a year into the time my husband and I were dating, he left to serve a mission for our church for two years; as did I, though to no where quite as exotic as he did. He was able to serve the wonderful people in Veracruz Mexico and take in the beauty that surrounded him on an almost constant basis. Ever since his return and our marriage 3 months later, I’ve wanted to visit the place he fell in love with while we were apart. All the pictures make me even more eager to visit.

The Great Barrier Reef

I’m a water girl, what can I say? The Great Barrier Reef is somewhere both my husband and I have always wanted to go to. The water is beautiful and it’s so completely different than anywhere in the world. I’m also a huge lover of sea-life in general and would love the opportunity to “swim with the fishes”.

Ireland

Ireland. Beautiful, broody, gorgeous, green Ireland. If I was told I was going to die in the next few months, I would go here before I die. It’s been on my list of “places to visit” since I was a young child and seeing movies like Braveheart and the recent Pride and Prejudice only tipped the scales. The castles, the green landscapes, the foggy-rainy conditions, the local pubs and cobblestone walkways and bridges are things of my dreams. I have ancestors from the region and I often think it’s just my roots calling me back home. This is a place I know I will go to one day, without question.

Now, your turn! Link up below and tell everyone “A Bit of You!”

Next Week’s Question: Do you come from a large or small family and how do you think it influenced your life? (Feel free to leave out names if you feel you need to.)
Have a question to add? I’d love some suggestions! Just leave them in the comments and I’ll see about adding them in as we go!

Also, feel free to grab either of the buttons for your own “A Bit of Me(Me)” post (or create your own), but make sure to link back to There’s A Book. (You can also resize these down to a smaller size if you’d like.)

Very beautiful picks! I would love to visit them all, but I have to admit that like even my own choice, having only 24 hours to visit would be…a tragedy. :)
