Shoes with buckles, Shoes with taps”.

Prance from page to page in search of the perfect pair of party shoes. Girls of all ages will love to go on a shoe shopping expedition with these four friends, from “fuzzy boots for when it snows” to “ballerinas on our toes.” The girls try on every shoe in the store, but “eeny, meeny, my, oh, my [they] just don’t know which shoes to buy.” With some feathers and glitter, a little bit of glue, and a LOT of imagination, the girls come up with the best shoes of all!

Geisel Honor winner Karen Beaumont’s rollicking rhymes – paired with the vibrant illustrations of LeUyen Pham – capture the excitement of finding your own style, and the joy of sharing it with friends.

“Party dresses, party hair, perfect party shoes to wear!”

Littlebug Speaks Up: “Shoes! Shoes! Shoes! So many shoes! I don’t know if my mom has told you this before, but I love shoes. One of the first things I have to put on in the morning are my shoes, no matter if we’re just staying home or going out I have to have them on. Sometimes I’ll even put on two or three different shoes during a day. There are just so many!

“This is just the book for me! They try on shoes that I haven’t ever seen before and some I’d really like to have someday. My favorites are definitely the ones that look good enough to eat. Chomp! There are also some that have flowers on them that look a lot like my favorite pair of shoes.

“If you have a little girl in your life who loves shoes as much as I do, you really should read this book with her. I know she’d love it! Plus, the end is the best part of the whole book and my mom told me I’m not aloud to give it away, so you’ll just have to read it for yourself!”

Mom’s Two Cents: “A night on the town awaits this dazzling quartet, but what shoes to wear to their fantastic shindig? Enter Shoe-la-la!, every shoe loving girls dream store, filled with every pair of shoes you could possibly imagine. From polk-a-dots to rainbows to zippers and bows there’s no shortage of shoes to try on for these pint sized shoe lovers. But even with all the options you could ever want will they find just the right pair for their night out?

“Do you have a shoe person in your home? You know the one. There’s never enough closet space, never the right pair for the right occasion, not the right color or shape, and so-on. In our home it actually happens to be Littlebug and surprisingly…Dad. Yep, The Baker, he just can’t seem to get enough shoes and so when Littlebug needs indulging in this area he’s always more than eager to help. You could practically see Littlebug’s eyes light up with all the possibilities floating through this book. It was adorable.

“This is the perfect book for the shoe-lover in your life. Not only that, but the story leads to the discovery of some unexpected creativity on the part of the fantastic four. A wonderfully fun and incredibly creative picture book for the young and old who can’t ever seem to have enough closet space.”

The1stdaughter Recommends: Ages 2 to 8. Shoe lovers watch out! You may need to make a trip to the mall after reading this delightful book about four girls looking for the perfect pair.
