There's A Book

We all leave our “footprint” on the world, in one way or another. We each, individually, do something or are someone that makes the world a little better just by being here. I created this weekly meme to get to know the blogging community I love just a bit better. To know what makes them tick, outside of books, that is. Each week I will post a question to be answered in the following week’s “A Bit of Me(Me)”. Check back each Saturday to get the info for next week’s post and link up with your current post right here.

I know, some of you are skeptical about putting yourself out there on the internet and I completely respect that. That’s the entire reason I have no desire to ever reveal the “real” names of The Turkeybird and Littlebug. In time, once they’re old enough, if they chose to do that on their own I will respect their decision. So, if ever during the time I’m doing this meme do you feel the question is just too personal for your liking, feel free to post something else, I never want anyone to feel uncomfortable with what they share and I promise it will always be “kid-friendly”. I mean, this is a primarily children’s and young adult site, you know?

So, let’s get started!

This Weeks Question: Would you bungee jump, go hang gliding, jump out of a plane, etc? Which one and why? If not, how come?

Now, I’m not normally the adventuresome type, but there is definitely one thing I’d love to try before I leave this life. It absolutely makes my “bucket list”!

For some reason, unlike jumping out of a plane or bouncing on a cord strapped to a bridge, this sounds completely possible for me. I know, you all are raising an eyebrow to that thinking, but it works for me. I’d definitely love to soar with the birds and it would be even better if it was near a beach. So gorgeous I think!

Now, your turn! Link up below and tell everyone “A Bit of You!”

Next Week’s Question: If you could change something about yourself, what would it be & why?
Have a question to add? I’d love some suggestions! Just leave them in the comments and I’ll see about adding them in as we go!

Also, feel free to grab either of the buttons for your own “A Bit of Me(Me)” post (or create your own), but make sure to link back to There’s A Book. (You can also resize these down to a smaller size if you’d like.)

  1. No, I’m definitely too much of a fraidy-cat to bungee jump or parachute…flying is a big enough challenge for me! LOL

    Hope you have fun, though!

  2. Good for you…I am too much of a wimp to try anything like these adventures.

  3. Once as a kid I went on a ride the made you feel you were parachuting. I loved the experience and have always thought doing it for real would be a hoot. Hang gliding also looks fun, but never in a million years would I bungee jump, seen too many incidents where the cord’s broke and I doubt I would enjoy the continued up and down motion after the initial drop.

  4. I didn’t pick anything like that for mine, but I did give a very me alternative 🙂 I think I’d vomit on people if I was up in the air like that!

  5. Jessi E. says:

I am such a baby when it comes to stuff like that. I’m not afraid of heights, but the idea of doing extreme things like this … freaky!!!

  6. Jenni Elyse says:

I’ve actually already been bungee jumping, twice, out of a hot air balloon. It was so much fun! I loved it and would do it again in a heartbeat. I’d love to go hang gliding and sky diving if the opportunity ever arose.

  7. My toes are curling just looking at these pictures! I’ll keep my feet on the ground. I hope you get to try it soon!

  8. I use to want to. Badly actually. Then I got older and less fearless. I wish I had done it when I was young and super brazen.

I road a helicopter once. Does that count? 🙂

  9. Hang gliding sounds so wonderful and scary and wonderful! That is one thing I’d like to try too 🙂

  10. p.s. my daughter is sitting next to me and said, I love that little sailboat and the palm trees and the little girl reading a book on a hill…” So that’s it: she loves your blog!

  11. I fall into the boring category on this one. I don’t know why, but I just like my feet on the ground. I don’t really enjoy being in the air or in the water. I like land. There was a time when I skied some pretty decent mountains like Mt. Spokane and Killington, VT. I would say that is about as thrilling as I get when it comes to this kind of stuff 🙂

  12. Gina says:

Umm….short answer? No. No thank you. I’m not exactly afraid of heights per se, but being up there without a podium or something beneath me, THAT’S the scary part. O_O

  13. I hope it’s not to late to link up. Thanks for this interesting question. I am absolutely terrified of heights. Just the idea of participating in one of these activities causes me pain!

  14. Tanya says:

I love all your pictures (especially the one with the little baby’s toes at the top). I’ve been paragliding once, in Greece, many decades ago and it was an absolute thrill. I’d do it again, if given the chance!
