There's A Book

This fabulous weekly recap is hosted by Shelia of One Persons Journey Through a World of Books. Each week we recap what we’ve read and look at what’s coming up this week. If you’re interested head over to Shelia’s site and get involved! It’s a blast and I may even stop by to see what you’re up to!

As a little bit of a heads up for those of you interested in finding more great Children’s to YA books to read specifically, Jen from Teach Mentor Texts (a favorite of mine) is starting up a companion to Sheila’s weekly meme that you don’t want to miss! Feel free to visit her site and get ready to find great Children’s books starting next Monday! I’ll continue to participate in both Sheila & Jen’s memes and there’s no reason others shouldn’t as well, I can’t wait to join with everyone!

Here’s what we’ve been up to this week:

This week started out with high expectations and quickly sunk under the heavy load of yet another migraine. What’s the deal there? Anywho…I managed to escape it just in time for Thanksgiving and decided to take the rest of the weekend “off” the blog. Thankfully I had a fabulous holiday with my little family and then on Saturday celebrated my birthday! We had a great weekend and I got some fantastic gifts too (The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick, was one of them and it’s amazing!)! So, even with the migraine city it was still a great week! How about you?

Sorry you’ve suffered another nasty migraine but so glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving & Happy Belated birthday :)

The Hazards of Hunting While Heartbroken is a cool title, hope it’s a good one. Have a great week and happy reading

  2. So sorry about your migraines.
So happy you recouped in time and took the weekend off.
I’m off to check out your Goodnight Tweetheart review.

  3. Jen says:

Happy belated birthday, love! Looks like you have a lot of Kate Messner reading to do! She’s awesome and has written so many great things! :)

  4. Raquelle says:

I hear ya Danielle! I had a 900+ page book that I was hoping to make a significant dent in over the Thanksgiving holiday but some severe migraines prevented that for sure. Hope you are feeling better and can’t wait to hear what the kiddos think of the Nosy Crow and Toon Books titles!

  5. Gina says:

Busy week as usual…looking forward to those upcoming reviews! NO ROOM FOR DESSERT looks interesting and how can one resist the LIBRARY MONSTER! ^_^

  6. Julie says:

I’m so glad your migraine went away in time for you to enjoy the holiday weekend. Have you read other books in The Buddy Files series? I’m wondering how they are for reading aloud to a 4 year old. I think my daughter might like them and I just started reading chapter books to her.

  7. Pussreboots says:

I haven’t heard of any books on you list this week. That’s unusual. If it weren’t for the audio books we listened to while stuck in holiday traffic, I wouldn’t have gotten much read this week. Please come see what we’ve read.
