There's A Book

Book Publishers 101 is a feature that happens each month here at There’s A Book! We spend an entire month highlighting one of our favorite book publishers. What this means for you…a chance to get to know a publisher you may have not known before with a “behind the scenes” look, an opportunity to “link-up” posts you might have from the featured publisher, guest posts, author interviews, a look at their newest titles and of course a chance to win some great books! We know you will enjoy getting to know these amazing publishers and hope that you’ll learn something you may have not already known!

Our Publisher 101 Featured Publisher for the month of December 2011 is:

Nosy Crow is a new, independent company, publishing children’s books and apps.

We publish high-quality, commercial fiction and non-fiction books for children aged from 0 to 14 from both well-known authors and illustrators and new talent.

We make innovative, multimedia, highly interactive apps for tablets, smart phones and other touchscreen devices. These apps are not existing books squashed onto phones, but instead are specially created to take advantage of the devices to tell stories and provide information to children in new and engaging ways.

We are a London-based children’s book and app publisher founded in 2010 by veterans of the children’s book publishing industry. In 2011, Nosy Crow will publish 26 books for children and young adults, as well as 4 apps designed for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.

I’m extremely excited to be able to host Nosy Crow this month! This will be my first opportunity to share my book reviews for books from this fantastic publisher as they’ve only recently been published here in the US. Our first introduction to Nosy Crow was through their connection with Candlewick Press when they became an imprint of one of our favorite publishers. Then later their we fell in love with their app, The Three Little Pigs. Since that time we’ve read every book we could get our hands on here in the US and can’t rave enough about them. The quality is impeccable and both the kiddos & I love the messages the books bring into our lives. I have no doubt this is going to be an incredible month highlighting some of their wonderful books and I’m really looking forward to it!

  1. Looking forward to “Nosy Crow” month here at There’s a Book. This publisher was on the top of my list to send my Hey! Hey! manuscript to until I chickened out and put it back in the drawer for a few more months. Then, the MeeGenius thing came along. I liked that they are active in the app market and active on Twitter/FB.
