Bloggiesta: A Call for Mini-Challenge Hosts

Today Suey from It’s All About Books and I are putting out the call for mini-challenge hosts for the upcoming Bloggiesta event on March 30th thru April 1st!

What exactly is a mini-challenge? Well, during the weekend there will be a number of mini-challenges you can take part in at your discretion that should help to improve your blog in some way or another. Obviously there are a number of things you may want to tick off your check list that range from the technical to the not-so-technical, and because of this we want to offer a variety of challenges from around the book blogging world. You don’t have to have been blogging for “x” number of years or months we just want hosts that are excited to offer a great challenge and participate in the event.

We are asking that hosts try, if possible, to offer a prize or giveaway in conjunction with their giveaway. This doesn’t need to be extravagant and for those of you who work with publishers you may even get in touch with them to see if they might like to “sponsor” you. Another option would be something as simple as a $5 gift card to B&N or Starbucks. We don’t want anyone to feel like they can’t host because they can’t offer a giveaway, so please don’t feel obligated. We will be sharing a few giveaways for the overall event that will be announced closer to the event date.

Below is a list of topics from the last Bloggiesta closing survey. Each was something that a number of participants specified they’d be interested in seeing as a challenge. If you already have a challenge in mind that’s not on the list please sign up with it because both Suey and I know we’ve probably forgotten something! Here are our suggestions:

• Plug-ins for WordPress sites, which to use & not to
• Publisher Etiquette how to’s – sending reviews & contacting for reviews
• How to create a vlog and great video editing software
• Get to work – write “X” number of reviews.
• Protecting your blog – Copyrighting
• HTML Basics
• Monetizing how to and where to go to do it.

So, go for it! As I said before, I hosted a mini-challenge when my blog was only three months old and I had a blast! Fill out the form below (make sure to fill it out only once, it’s the same form at Suey’s site so there’s no need to fill it out there as well) and will be in touch very soon!
