There's A Book

Up, Tall and High by Ethan Long

Publishers Summary:
Three side-splitting stories in one great picture book!
In three laugh-out-loud situations, an irresistible cast of colorful birds illustrate the concepts of “up,” “tall” and “high.” First, a short peacock proves that he may not be tall, but he definitely isn’t small. Then, a resourceful bird helps his penguin friend find a way to fly. Finally, two birds want to live in the same tree, but what goes up must come down! Each short story features a flap that reveals a surprise twist.
With fun fold-outs, easy-to-read text, and a hilarious cast of characters, these stories beg preschoolers and emerging readers to act them out again and again.

Both kiddos and myself are huge fans of Ethan Long! When his short cartoons came on Disney Junior, Tasty Time with ZeFronk, Littlebug couldn’t get enough. So this is another book we couldn’t do without. Definitely worth picking up, if only for the giggles.

Also, there’s an amazing video posted at Ethan’s site that I tried to embed, but couldn’t get. You need to go watch it! It’s a simple video about him drawing the birds that this book is based on and his art is incredible…actually anything but simple. He makes it look effortless, but I still doubt I’d have the ability to draw more than a stick figure. Haha.

Make sure to visit Ethan’s site for activities relating to this fabulous book!
