There's A Book

One of the aspects Suey and I decided to tone down a bit with Bloggiesta were the prizes. A number of people who filled out Natasha’s last survey for Bloggiesta mentioned that the prizes weren’t always necessary to make the event fun. So we decided to give the mini-challenge hosts the option of offering something and have a couple of overall “Grand Prizes” at the end of the event. We’d love to know what you think about this change and if you’d like to see it continued! Please feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments below!

Now for our wonderful sponsors! Both of these are incredible prize packs!

Since this is my first Bloggiesta, I can’t really compare this one to last ones. But, I think the amount of prizes are just fine. I don’t think there needs to be a prize for every mini-challenge. I don’t even think there needs to be grand prizes. Although, they are cool. I just think being part of the community is what makes Bloggiesta fun.

  2. I think I sqqquuueeed a little bit when I seen Breadcrumbs! LOL

I OVE the mini challnges and while I find the chance to win a gift card or something bookish fun, it is not a necessity. I like the mix of there being some giveaways (I think it helps people to actually finish a challenge some time) and some not. Me – I just like to learn how to do this better.

Thank you for all your hard work this weekend! I know a ton had to go into this prior to the weekend. Count me in for anything you need next time around, I had a blast hosting a challenge.

    • Haha! I know exactly what you mean! Such a good book! 🙂

It sounds like this works well then. A good balance of learning with a few prizes here and there.

And you’re so welcome! Thank you for hosting a mini-challenge! We’ll definitely love to have you back again next time! 🙂

Thanks for visiting my blog and liking my header! I love your background image too! And your captcha is precious! Thank you for making my first Bloggiesta a great one! I’ve learned a TON and I’m going to keep trying out a lot of the suggestions!

    • You’re so welcome! I love the captcha too, so much better than the letter ones. 🙂

So so glad you could join in this time! Hopefully you’ll be back again for the next Bloggiesta!

I always like the idea of prizes but my problem with past bloggiestas was they were almost always fiction books and I don’t read barely any fiction. So for prizes I’d prefer amazon or book depository GCs or at least more different types of books.

    • Yeah, I think that’s why the idea of having the challenge hosts sponsor the prizes works out best. That way they can decide to giveaway gift certificates if they want. And a lot of them did! 🙂

Danielle, you and Suey did such an amazing job this weekend. Prizes or not, the wealth of information I gained was incredible, and I met alot of wonderful folks. Glad I decided to join in!

Now go take a long nap! (Or as much as Littlebug and Turkeybird will allow). On a personal note, Preschooler will be 3 in a couple weeks. I’m in denial. Good thing I have Baby to snuggle!

    • Thank you so so much! Yes, I do need a bit of a nap…not sure that’s going to happen. 😛

Congrats on the Preschooler!!! Wow! Doesn’t time fly? I miss the baby snuggling days. 🙁

I really appreciate everyone’s hard work and their generosity with the giveaways!

  7. What an awesome pack!
    Good luck all 🙂

I think the prize is having my blog improved but sadly, this is a never ending task. The more I know, the more issues I have, it seems. But it was good to make progress!
