There's A Book

This fabulous weekly recap is hosted by Shelia of One Persons Journey Through a World of Books and the kidlit version is hosted by Jen from Teach Mentor Texts. Each week we recap what we’ve read and look at what’s coming up this week. If you’re interested head over to Shelia’s site as well as Jen’s and get involved! It’s a blast and I may even stop by to see what you’re up to!

Here’s what we’ve been up to this week:

Better late than never, right?!

Craziness. Pure craziness. As many of you know I was able to co-host Bloggiesta with Suey from It’s All About Books, and had a blast I should add! That being said, hosting doesn’t always allow for a lot of work being accomplished on your own site and so this weekend has been a bit of a “Bloggiesta” for me. In fact, I’ve completely switched the theme of the site and am in the process of fine tuning those little things that need changing now. I’m thrilled for the new look and would love your feedback! Do you like it? Are there any little things you see that need changing? I’d love to know what you think! Thanks!

Guess what?! Now you can see my most recent reviews in that fun scroll bar above! How neat is that?!

So, what are you reading this week? Have any suggestions I should add to my reading pile?

  1. Great stack of books! See You at Harry’s looks intriguing.

So much fun! I love the new look! It’s the same but different, too. I love how it seems more spread out – like it’s taking up the entire screen. The scrolly at the top is fun! I love it! Was it easy to add? And I like you Anywhere and Everywhere…Kellee and I should see if we can do that. I need some professional help with our blog, I think. We’ve done pretty good with it but there are some things I am not able to do computer-wise.

I’m so glad you are linking up! You are reading See You at Harry’s! I hope you like it. Can’t wait to hear what you think. I was distraught to say the least. I got to see Robot Zombie Frankenstein at a conference I went to in November and it was super cute! Love it!

    • Yay! The big changes were exactly what you mentioned. I changed over the theme, which was pretty crazy to do, but got it eventually. It made it so the background auto-fits to your screen. :) The scrolly thing is my favorite and I’ve wanted it for a long time. It’s actually part of the theme that I got and you can customize it a million different ways, but it is a WordPress thing. Are you guys on Blogger? I can’t remember for sure. Hiring someone is definitely worth it, I spent most of the weekend at my computer editing code and I’m not even done. :P

I can only imagine how much work went into hosting Bloggiesta and I’m so thankful you and Suey took it over…I love participating and find it so beneficial.

All the books you have coming up look like fun reads.

Hope you have a great week!

    • Thank you!! We really had a blast hosting it. To be honest, if I could host an event once a month I really would. I love the book blogging community so much, some of the very best people out there. :)

  4. Carol says:

I really love the new look.

  5. Nice stack and LOOOOOOOOOOVE the new look!

  6. Maria says:

I’ll echo what has been said above… I love the new look. Still looks similar enough to be “familiar”, but much fresher/cleaner.

Also, Play Baby Play, and Bugs Galore have piqued my interest. Looking forward to hearing Turkeybird and Littlebug’s thoughts.

    • Yay! Thank you so much! That’s definitely what I was going for. Something a little cleaner, new, but still “There’s A Book”. :)

Keep your eyes peeled! We’ll have those reviews very very soon.

  7. Love the new scrolling banner

    Have a great reading week
