There's A Book

This fabulous weekly recap is hosted by Shelia of One Persons Journey Through a World of Books and the kidlit version is hosted by Jen from Teach Mentor Texts. Each week we recap what we’ve read and look at what’s coming up this week. If you’re interested head over to Shelia’s site as well as Jen’s and get involved! It’s a blast and I may even stop by to see what you’re up to!

Here’s what we’ve been up to this week:

So, to say this week has been a whirlwind of emotions is an understatement. Starting off with the opening of the Independent Book Blogger Awards (by the way, you can still vote for There’s A Book and I’d be forever grateful!) and the wonderful people who have already shown me so much love in this regard to mid-week hearing the news that my Grandfather passed away to seeing an all-time favorite author (Patrick Ness) as well as some incredible blogging friends to then going to a funeral, it was a week I need a vacation to recover from. On the topic of my Grandfather, I want to publicly say thank you to everyone who has emailed, tweeted, Facebooked, etc. their condolences. His death wasn’t an overwhelming surprise, but still saddening at the same time. Having the enormous support of so many was incredibly comforting, thank you!

As for the author/blogger event this weekend…wow! I’ll be posting a full wrap-up later today, but check this out in the meantime:

Feel free to insert appropriate fan-girl screaming! I barely contained myself. ;)

What’s up for the week to come:

This week is a bit of a repeat on some accounts, because of all the insanity of this last week. Please forgive us, I promise it will still be a fantastic week! :)

I’m reading Same Sun Here right now. I haven’t gotten far enough into it yet to really get into the “issues” you referenced, but I’m enjoying it thus far.

I’m sorry last week was so difficult for you, but pleased you could balance out the sad with a little joy. Wishing you a more relaxing week ahead.

    • I hope you really enjoy Same Sun Here. It’s such a great MG. :)

And yes! The balance of good and bad was especially helpful last week. I think it made everything much more enjoyable. Relaxation is definitely at the top of the list this week!

So sorry to hear about your grandfather…wishing you peace and comfort during this difficult time.

I love the Pinkalicious books…I’ve given my niece a few of them and love reading them with her.

    • Thank you so much! xo

These Pinkalicious books are fantastic! They really are great because a lot of the original fans are now getting to “reading” age and these make a great transition.
