This weeks topic? Top Ten Books On My Summer TBR List

Phew! Is it really already summer?! Oh my! Where does the time go? I’m so excited to read through all of the books on my list, though I’m a bit worried you’re all going to think some aren’t technically summer reads since they don’t publish until September. Sorry! If that’s the case…put them on your to-read lists and I’ll make sure to remind you later to pick them up again. Also, feel free to click on the covers for links to Goodreads so you can add them to your own summer reading lists!

1. The Peculiar by Stefan Bachmann (MG 9/2012) - I’m intrigued, what can I say? Love the cover, the synopsis and the history & age of the author.
2. Small Damages by Beth Kephart (YA 7/2012) - Technically I’ve already read this one, but it’s absolutely worthy of a reread this summer!
3. Splendors and Glooms by Laura Amy Schlitz (MG 8/2012) - I met and had dinner with Laura Amy Schlitz during BEA and she completely won me over with her love for writing and her imagination. How could I not want to read such an intriguing book? Besides, it’s a brilliant read…one that should be on all of your lists this Summer/Fall!
4. Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo (YA 6/2012) - Who isn’t reading this one?! I’m dying to pick it up and haven’t been able to with everything going on. So I’m excited to finally have some time to really enjoy it.
5. Ungifted by Gordon Korman (MG 8/2012) - Hilarious. When I initially received this book I couldn’t help but fall in love with the cover, it’s high on my list of must-reads over the next few weeks.
6. The Great Unexpected by Sharon Creech (MG 9/2012) - This was a book featured at the Middle Grade Book Editors Buzz at BEA and I couldn’t help falling in love with everything about it. I’m planning on reading it very very soon.
7. The Spindlers by Lauren Oliver (MG 9/2012) - Just received this one and I cannot wait to dig in and see what I think!
8. From What I Remember… by Stacy Kramer and Valerie Thomas (YA 5/2012) - Another I’ve been wanting to read for weeks and have been so unbelievably busy that I haven’t been able to. Thankfully the summer will save me!
9. A Mutiny in Time by James Dashner (MG 8/2012) - I’m pretty sure my hubby will snag this one before I have a chance to even leaf through the pages. That’s okay though. ;)
10. Beware the Ninja Weenies by David Lubar (MG 6/2012) - As proof that I’m not all seriousness. Haha. How could you not want to read a book with that title and cover?

Now, your turn! Which books are you looking forward to reading this summer?

If you want more details just click on the title and you’ll be taken to my review or Goodreads.

10 Responses to Top Ten Tuesday: Must Read Summer TBR List

  1. Ooh so many books on this list that I want to read also – like Shadow and Bone. Hope you get to all these books and enjoy them all :-)

  2. Great list! I have Shadow & Bone on my TBR, it just didn’t make the top 10. Lauren Oliver is so great! I didn’t know she already had a new title coming out. How does she do it?!
You will love From What I Remember… It is the perfect summer read!
    Happy summer reading!

    • Isn’t it crazy?! I really have no idea how Lauren does it. All I can figure is that these recent books are all ones she’s had ideas for for some time because otherwise I have no idea. It’s incredible!

So good to hear about From What I Remember! It seems like the perfect summer read. :)

  3. Jessie says:

It looks like a great list!

    Happy Reading!

  4. Maria says:

I received an ARC of Splendors and Glooms through BEA and can’t wait to dive in! It’s next on my TBR list. The cover sucks me in, even before I’ve read the first word.

  5. Nice. I can’t wait for your review of Splinders.
