There's A Book

My Friend Fred by Hiawyn Oram and Illustrated by Rosie Reeve

Grace and her dog, Fred, are best friends, and they do everything together. But when Grace tries to keep Fred all to herself, she learns that the very best friends are the ones who share. Acclaimed author Hiawyn Oram’s irresistible story is brought to life by the breezy art of Rosie Reeve, a bright new talent in children’s book illustration.

Our entire household has long been fans of Tiger Tales Books. Nearly every book they’ve published has been a huge hit with both the kiddos and I as well as their dad (which isn’t always as easy as you’d think). When I recently came across My Friend Fred by Hiawyn Oram on their site I knew I wanted to pick it up. It’s adorable and filled with gorgeous illustrations (take a look at it over at the Tiger Tales site for interior illustrations of many of the pages within the book). I’m thrilled to share it with the kiddos soon and help them understand a little more about sharing, though I’m definitely weary of the “we want a dog” requests. Haha.

How cute! You know I’m a sucker for a good puppy story…and Fred is just adorable. Sounds like this one could really show little ones how sharing is much more fun than keeping it all to oneself. Great find!

  2. So cute. My daughter is in love with our lab. Nothing makes her smile and giggle like the dog.
