There's A Book

Olive and the Big Secret by Tor Freeman

When Molly shares a secret with Olive, the urge to tell is just too great! Olive tells Joe who tells Matt who tells Lola. But Lola is best friends with Molly. Uh-oh, the secret is out, and Olive is in for it!

Olive learns the hard way that keeping secrets is tough, and telling them can make for a whole lot of trouble!

Olive and the Big Secret by Tor Freeman was another book I had to see at BEA this year and it’s one book I cannot wait to share with my kiddos. All of the illustrations are brilliantly adorable and the theme is one I’ve never encountered before. The author/illustrator Tor Freeman also has a fantastic blog where he shares a number of illustrations each week that truly must be seen! Olive and the Big Secret comes out in August from Candlewick Press.

A wonderful event that is also beginning in August thanks to Candlewick Press is their “We Believe In Picture Books” year long celebration! I’m so excited for this and while I was at BEA I was able to record a little snippet that will most likely be shared sometime during the year. Until then, take a look at the incredible trailer for the event:

Ah yes…the lure of the “tell” when you know something no one else does. It’s hard to resist…but it sounds like Olive might learn first hand why you should. Love the cover art…such a cute kitty!

  2. So cute. And it reminds me of Richard Scary for some reason. Which I loveee!
