There's A Book

This week we’ve been thoroughly enjoying the Olympics and loving the camaraderie of the teams inside and out of the USA. Everyone has seen this video, but as a former high school swimmer the 2012 USA Olympic Swimming Team rendition of “Call Me Maybe” brings back fond memories:

Now, when the kiddos and I were watching it this morning we came across another video you’ve possibly already seen, but couldn’t help sharing:

This.is.hilarious! The kiddos and I cannot stop rewatching the Cookie Monster with his take on Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen. We’ve been needing a few giggles this week and this absolutely did the trick! Be warned, if you play it once for your kiddos they’ll want to watch it over and over and over again…it’s that good!

A few of my favorite lines from Share It Maybe!? by the Cookie Monster:

“Me trade me soul for a bite, me spell it out black and white, me look at you and me see you like an elf in a tree.”

“Pie and ice cream, it no phase me, but you got cookie? Share it maybe!?”

“You, cookie showing and me hunger growing, lets get skim milk flowing will start this snack going baby! Hey me just met you and this is crazy but you got cookie! So share it maybe!?”

Do you have a favorite Sesame Street character you love or video you love watching with your kiddos? How are you enjoying the Olympics this week?

You should check out Jimmy Fallon’s version/ He and the original singer performed this with the group Roots, using children’s classroom instruments. Really – little toy xylophones, a play guitar, those triangle things, a tambourine…best thing I ever saw.
