There's A Book

The Boy Who Cried Ninja by Alex Latimer

In this quirky twist on The Boy Who Cried Wolf, a boy s excuses turn out to have an unexpected element of truth.

Tim witnesses some strange happenings around his house, but no one believes his explanations. In fact, no matter what Tim says, his parents just punish him with chores. To save himself, he hatches a clever plan to expose the truth. Will it work, or will Tim have to spend the rest of his life raking the yard?

Bubbling with wit and humor from start to finish, author-illustrator Alex Latimer’s debut picture book will have readers of all ages laughing out loud.

In anticipation of an interview taking place a little later today I thought I’d give a nod to one of the recommendations given by author Ariel S. Winter, The Boy Who Cried Ninja by Alex Latimer. I’ve long loved Alex Latimer’s illustrations and his storytelling is just plain old fun. Initially I was introduced to The Boy Who Cried Ninja thanks to my good friend Gina at Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers. We’ve been meaning to pick up a copy since reading her review, but for one reason or another have forgotten. A travesty soon to be remedied! Strangely enough it just so happens that Gina just reviewed Alex Latimer’s newest picture book, Penguin’s Hidden Talent and it looks to be another we’ll be adding to our collection very soon! Be sure to check out her review and stop by later for our interview with the author of One of a Kind, Ariel S. Winter!
