Choose a microwave

Microwave has become a standard fixture in American cuisine. You have enough microwave for yourself. These appliances can heat water and cook in much less time than is required in a regular oven or stove.

The parts of a microwave oven consist of a cooking chamber, a waveguide, a microwaves producing microwaves and a high voltage transformer that supplies electricity for the microwave and microwave control circuit. A microwave oven provides heat by bombarding food with microwaves, which is a type of electromagnetic wave. Fats, sugar and water absorb these waves, which causes the molecules to vibrate at high speed, which gives rise to heat. The microwaves are not absorbed by ceramics, glass or plastic. Metal boilers reflect microwaves and therefore can not be used in microwave ovens.

Microwave ovens were built in 1947 by Raytheon. This oven was called Radarange and stood almost 6 meters long and weighs in to 750 pounds. It consumed 3000 watts of energy, and needed plumbing for its cooling system. This monster machine came with a monster price tag of about $ 5,000. In 1954, a commercial model of the microwave, which used only 1,600 watts, developed. The price of $ 2000- $ 3000 was still expensive. In 1965, Amana was acquired by Raytheon and introduced a bench version of Radarange in 1967. It was the first popular microwave oven at the affordable price of $ 495.

Microwave ovens have gone through several changes and now come in many styles and sizes. Consumers have the choice of a wall-mounted oven, which is built into the cabinet and table platform, which is obviously intended to be placed on a table or countertop. Microwave ovens are also available in different sizes to suit a variety of needs.

Compact microwaves: These small devices typically measure less than 18 inches wide, 12 inches long and 14 inches deep. Their capacity is less than a cubic foot. Their power ranges from 500 to 1000 watts. These small devices are mostly used for making popcorn, cooking food and cooking microwave dishes. You can usually find them in break rooms or dorms, where they occupy very little space. Some larger compact microwaves can also cook and can hold a 2-quartz pot.

Medium Capacity Microwave: These microwave ovens are usually 20 inches or more wide, with a capacity of 1-1.5 cubic feet. Their power ranges from 1000-1500 watts. These larger microwave ovens also have several automatic cooking functions built into them, which are usually not found in the compact microwaves. The medium-sized microwaves cook food a little faster and hold larger bowls than the compact microwaves. They can be used to boil frozen starters, vegetables and small pieces of meat.

High capacity microwave ovens: These microwaves have a wide range of automatic cooking and more accurate temperature control features. These large microwaves are designed to cook the entire meals. With a capacity of over 2 cubic feet and over 2000 watts, these large microwaves are made of rust, turkey breasts and large pots.

Microwave can also come with additional features, such as neighboring elements, which produce a brown crust on food as if it was cooked in a conventional oven or rotary series.

When choosing a microwave oven, keep a few things in mind. What is your budget? Although microwaves can be purchased for much less than 5,000 dollars now, you still need to decide how much you want to spend. What are you thinking about using the oven? If you just want to pop a casual bag of popcorn, or microwave a frozen burrito, you can come with a compact microwave. If you plan to do a lot of thawing and cooking, you want to look at something bigger.

The microwave has gone but many changes since the first building in 1947. With many different styles, sizes and even colors, they have become a very affordable asset to many people.
